This personal work is an abstract self portrait.  The composition represents coming to terms with inevitable mortality in a world of chaos / uncertainty, but also acknowledging hope within that context.

The use of white pastel represents "chalk" outlining commonly found / stereotypically acknowledged as part and parcel of crime scene investigations.  You can also see a semi-wilted flower held in a show of peace.  Hope is signified by colors combined to show the horizon from a sunset / sunrise.  Also, missing from the photographed image you see here but included in the piece which is currently on display, is a mark added to the piece to emphasize urgency associated with mortality.
