A Window., 2023

Image
Acrylic and white pastel on canvas 40 in. x 40 in.  This personal work is an abstract self portrait.  The composition represents coming to terms with inevitable mortality in a world of chaos / uncertainty, but also acknowledging hope within that context. The use of white pastel represents "chalk" outlining commonly found / stereotypically acknowledged as part and parcel of crime scene investigations.  You can also see a semi-wilted flower held in a show of peace.  Hope is signified by colors combined to show the horizon from a sunset / sunrise.  Also, missing from the photographed image you see here but included in the piece which is currently on display, is a mark added to the piece to emphasize urgency associated with mortality.  Price as listed is $1,500.00 USD  Please contact for additional inquiry.

Blue Kangol., 2023

Image
Acrylic, white pastel on cotton canvas 19 in. x 24 in. This work is a dedication piece celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop.   The artwork is an abstract portrait of a person, man or woman, wearing a variation of the iconic Kangol bucket hat.  The artwork began as an attempt to paint a grayscale reference to a photographed image of a Black woman model.  I was not satisfied with the initial resulting composition, so I continued to experiment with perfecting such features as the nose, mouth and eyes.  Color here is used to emphasize the androgenous quality of the subject which to me, speaks to the influence(s) of Hip-Hop culture. $300.00 USD

Boy Waving Hand, 2023

Image
Acrylic on Canvas 20 in. x 24 in. "Boy Waving Hand," was created as a painting of a toddler photographed sitting on a chair streetside in a bustling, urban Ugandan town. The artwork is a visual celebratory statement addressing early childhood and the innocence associated to it within context of fear of adulthood. As adults, and even as teens, people lose sight of what should be important.  This is due in part to social contraints that force us to lean into life instead of 'laying back'.  Of course, as adults, people make choices according to predetermined goals.   "Boy Waving Hand," ventures to suggest that life happens and that people can either welcome life or persistently deny life for themselves and their neighbors.   We can wave 'hello' or wave 'goodbye'... but, it doesn't matter so long as we can enjoy it because life is going to happen regardless. $375.00 USD

Boy and Mom., 2023

Image
Acrylic on canvas 24 in. x 20 in. This artwork is an interpretation of an initially photographed scene wherein a toddler is standing at the feet of a woman I assumed to be his mother.  Due to the scale of the photograph, I could only capture a portion of the woman's floor length dress. $315.00 USD

Beginning., 2023

Image
Acrylic on canvas 8 in. x 8 in. "Beginning" as the title for this artwork, represents the point at which a personal journey of professional creativity and artistry has commenced.   The artwork itself is a self-dedication for persistent resilience living through emotional traumas.   At the time of completing the composition, I considered the work a creative variation on journaling.  I used this to identify a new starting point for my career as an emerging artist in a reborn market.  Please contact for pricing.
